This is a clinic designed for children who want to improve their skating skills. Our main goal will be to improve players speed, balance and agility. Many competitions and fun games are designed to test and improve skating skills. This is another specialty clinic which uses drills and techniques designed to promote and simulate game  speed . For example we often pair players of equal ability and create contests where they must race through a skating course and compete for a single puck. We will use the principal of "Over speed Training" to increase skating speed. Skating posture, stride, various turning techniques and skating efficiency are all areas that we endeavour to improve. This is a clinic that has a variety of challenging drills which children enjoy.

2007 FALL POWER SKATING CLINIC CLINICS DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED

The purpose of the fall power-skating clinics is to allow students to familiarize themselves with the proper skills of skating prior to team tryouts. The Saturday clinics use the best and most appropriate drills from our summer clinics. The clinic will provide a review of the fundamentals of efficient skating. Children must wear full hockey equipment and bring their hockey stick. Because this is a power skating clinic, we will not be using pucks. The hockey stick will be used as a prop for many of our skating exercises. The sessions will be fast paced with short efficient verbal explanations. because most children learn best visually all skills will be repeatedly demonstrated. Students will spend most of their clinic time skating and practicing the techniques being taught. Each of the three daily sessions will have a different theme.
